Skin irritation test / Skin tolerability test is a dermatological test for assessing the skin's tolerance for the product. Independent dermatologists examine the test subjects' skin for signs of irritation after application of the product. Dermatologists look for signs of irritation such as redness, swelling, bumps, blisters and skin damage. Based on the results, the product is classified as either non-irritating, slightly irritating, moderately irritating and highly irritating. All products from Dr.Ankerstjerne are classified as non-irritating.

The skin moisture study is a dermatological test to assess the moisturizing effect the product has on the skin. The skin's moisture level is measured using an instrument (Corneometer® CM 825) on a standardized area of the skin that is the same for all test participants. The skin's moisture level is measured before application of the test product, and then 1, 3 and 5 hours after application of the test product. The effect is assessed by comparing the moisture level in the skin before application of the test product with the moisture level after 1, 3 and 5 hours. To get the most correct results possible, the test subjects must have clean skin, without skin care. Temperature and humidity in the surroundings are standardized during the test period. Corresponding moisture measurements are carried out on the opposite side of the test subject's body without the test product being applied, to ensure that factors other than the test product do not influence the effect being measured.
