Long before I became a doctor, I was a teenager with facial eczema - red, reactive, unpredictable skin.

Niacinamide, vitamin B3, is a powerful water-soluble antioxidant. In addition to its antioxidant properties, Niacinamide has a wide range of well-documented effects; Niacinamide improves the skin's surface structure; Strengthens the skin barrier and maintains the moisture balance in the skin; Reduces irritation and redness in the skin; Regulates and reduces sebum production; Evens skin tone and reduces hyperpigmentation.
SUPERFOOD multipurpose vitamin face gel contains 4% Niacinamide. It has been shown in studies that a concentration of 4% niacinamide is optimal for seeing results from the ingredient.
Vitamin B5 - Hydrates the skin and helps keep the skin soft and maintain elasticity
Dexpanthenol, pro vitamin B5, is quickly absorbed deep into the skin and converted into the active vitamin B5. Dexpanthenol has a well-documented hydrating effect by binding water and reducing the skin's fluid loss, which is important for maintaining softness and elasticity in the skin. It has been shown to improve skin irritations such as dryness, redness, roughness and itching of the skin.

Extract from the Scandinavian superfruit sea buckthorn is rich in antioxidants and, among other things, has a high content of natural vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin against the harmful effects of oxidative stress, such as premature aging of the skin and pigment damage. Sea buckthorn extract has been shown to be able to improve the skin's elasticity and moisture content, adds glow to the skin and has positive effects on irritated skin.
Retinyl Palmitate is a stable, non-aggressive form of Vitamin A. Once absorbed into the skin, it's gradually converted through a multi-step enzymatic process - first into retinol, then into retinaldehyde, and finally into retinoic acid, the biologically active form that supports cell renewal and collagen production.
Because this conversion happens gradually, Retinyl Palmitate delivers the benefits of Vitamin A - smoother skin surface, improved structure, a more vital-looking complexion - with far fewer side effects than stronger retinoids like retinol. It's also considered safe to use year-round: unlike retinol, Retinyl Palmitate isn't associated with increased photosensitivity, so there's no added risk of sun sensitivity.

Tocopherol is a naturally occurring form of vitamin E. Vitamin E is an important antioxidant in the skin that counteracts oxidative stress caused by the many environmental, chemical and physical factors that the skin is exposed to every day. Antioxidants in the skin thus protect the skin against the harmful effects of oxidative stress, including premature aging of the skin and pigment damage.
Glycerin is a humectant - it works by drawing water into the outer layers of the skin from both the surrounding air and the deeper layers of the skin itself, then binding that water in place. This helps maintain the skin's natural moisture balance and supports the function of the skin barrier, which is essential for keeping moisture in and irritants out.
By reinforcing the skin barrier, Glycerin also improves the skin's overall resilience - reducing sensitivity to environmental stressors and everyday irritation.
